One of the things I adore about fanfic is when writers are so in love with the characters that they can take them out of their original setting and insert them into totally new ones. Yep, the AU!!

To make it work, the writer needs to really understand their vision of the characters and not just the surface pretty. They have to know what these characters will do when faced with new challenges and different environments.

So my rec post today is about Au fics I adore. Theyre all quite long, again. But I love how each one of these takes me into a new world and never makes me question how my beloved characters got there. None of these are new, because real life has kept me away from fandom for so long.
